Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers served off a thriller in the southeast derby with a 2-2 draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Rangers, who began the match day as league leaders, went in front twice at Abia Warriors. Bobby Clement put the Flying Antelopes ahead on 22 minutes before Chima Uluocha stepped up and equalized from the spot for Abia Warriors six minutes to the break.
Chisom Echugbulam scored a brilliant free kick on the stroke of half time to give Rangers a 2-1 lead. Twenty minutes into the restart, Chisom Chikatara turned in Bolaji Sakin’s cross at the far post to even the score.
Rangers drop into second spot ahead of Kano Pillars, who played a 2-2 draw at Lobi Stars.
Anthony Okpotu scored from the spot on 16 minutes for Lobi. The lead lasted a few seconds as Prince Aggreh sprung the offside line to draw level for Pillars.
Moses Bunde could only turn in Aggreh’s cross into his own net as Pillars went ahead 2-1. Two minutes past the hour mark, Raphael Ayagwa saved Lobi the blushes by scoring the equalizer.
