Nigeria Premier League side, Kano Pillars were in great form as they comprehensively destroyed Shooing Stars to win 6-0 with Emmanuel Edmund scoring a hat-trick in the game on Sunday.
Playing before a full house at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Mohammed Baba Ganaru’s men were quick to take the lead through Super Eagles midfielder Ifeanyi Mathew’s low drive past Afeso Attah who was making his first start in goal for 3SC.
He scored his second and third in the 58th and 82nd minutes respectively to hand Pillars a healthy four-goal lead.
The Oluyole Warriors managed by a former Kano Pillars gaffer, Kadiri Ikhana, just found it difficult to keep up with the attacking pace of Emmanuel Edmund, Prince Aggreh, Matthew and Omo Johnson.
Eight minutes to the break, Edmund scored the first of his hat-trick and then followed up with two more goals on 58 and 82 minutes as Pillars took a four-goal lead.
Substitutes Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim also had their own share of the cake off 3SC with late goals as Pillars ran out six-nil winners to go fourth on the NPFL standings
